how do i remove the plastic retaining tab on the shifter cable?

im trying to install a pspec and for the life of me, cant figure it out.

anyways if your talking about the one on the left side the plastic one, all you have to do is slide out and turn (twist) it ! should come out.

edit: the DIY says 'use a flathead screwdriver to push back the plastic retaining tab.'
no offense whoever, but the pictures tell me nothing. i dont get it.. :/

one of the two black pieces that extend outwards, i just broke.....

i broke mine to. just follow those instructions. slide to the left and twist !!
