I don't know why you guys are bothering to make a thread like this... most people pay small mind to the principals of grammar anyway...
You guys do realize that constant use of improper grammar will eventually just lead you to not knowing what proper grammar is, right? So down the road in 10 years, when you interview for an important job, or write a company letter, work memo, or other important document that it will in some peoples mind, reflect in a negative aspect on your intelligence? At my last job, neither of my bosses could spell or create complete and proper sentences in work related emails where they wanted people to complete certain tasks. I printed the email out and edited it for them. I'm sure they didn't like it but in my mind, if you're going to be managing a company, your *** better be able to spell and use proper grammar when it's needed. No wonder other countries laugh at our education system with the attitude you guys have. Second language or not, you live here, learn to use it properly.
I feel the same way. In college, I always volunteered myself to be the person in the group who would proofread and edit papers. From personal experience, I could honestly say most could not write at a college level, or at least were too lazy to do so; from punctuation errors, run-on sentences, beginning sentences with "Because..", and so on. I mean, do these people even try? What irked me was that some would even consider submitting papers that consisted of everyone's parts just thrown together without rewriting the paper so that it would portray "one voice." In terms of internet writing though, I tend to be more lax as long as it is still comprehensible but it is always refreshing to read a well-constructed post or article.
