Injen SRI broke...? not happy

So after going to the drag strip this weekend and putting close to 1000mi on my car in 4 days i decide to check my oil and before i even get to check my oil this is what i found...

i checked everything before i left for the trip and it seemed fine and now i pop the hood and find that... anyone have this happen to them?

i've actually seen that before so i don't think ir's uncommon. there might be a thread on this, did you try searching?

never happened to me but ive had metal bite into the pipes from them vibrating and moving around too much.. you can always fix it the ghetto way and put a rubber coupling over it with clamps lol or even easier wrap it up with lots of your favorite color ductape!

I'm pretty sure someone had a thread about this not too long ago. Not sure if it was Injen or not, but they had the same problem.

yea im so pissed i kinda forgot to search...

for now i got a thick piece of roofing rubber from my dad and im just gonna zip tie it for now. i buddy of mine knows some one that weld's aluminum so im gonna see how much he wants. ill probably just end up buying a new one down the road.

you should just weld it shut (at ur buddy's) and leave it unbolted to avoid breaking it again.. the pipe wont be bouncing all over the engine bay anyway cus the intake manifold itself holds it in place

yeah i never saw the point of mounting intakes like that... the intake manifold along w everything else on the engine pulls back when reved so it only makes sense that it wuld snap...

That is for clearance issues that brand name companies deal with.

To bolt an intake up to that flex bolt, is to be sure the intake isn't laying/rubbing on top of the AC condenser lines or any other important lines. Especially while the intake's hot.

Looks like yours got a little too hot because of hard driving.
