Hey everyone,

`01 4cyl sedan accord owner here.

Last weekend I took my glovebox out to change air filters and also pulled up the plastic trim along both sides in anticipation of running amp wiring. Turned out I had cold feet regarding the drilling of the hole for the 0 gauge power wire, so I gave up and declared a partial victory by changing my air filters and wiper blades only.

As a result, the light in the center of the ceiling will not shut off when I have the switch set in the middle position. It normally turns off when the doors are shut and turns on when one is open. However, no doors are open and it remains on. I have to manually turn it on and off now. Any idea what may have caused this? I also had my back seat laid down for a bit as well.

Oh almost forgot, my friend and I were screwing around in the car a few nights prior and decided to throw a little mini rave with the overhead light and the map lights. This was right before she accidentally punched my rearview mirror off... good times. Maybe moving the switch back and forth for 30 or so seconds damaged something?

Thx,
-T

Can't see how, if you've taken your dome light cover off, you'd notice the bulb sits in two small clamps and the switch is only moving the connection between either the door on, always on, and off settings, no special wiring, except for the wires that plug into it

try messing with the door switches and see if they are the culprits.

I messed with the door switches, but that didn't have any effect. When I open each door, the door light comes on and it goes off when I press in the switch; however, the ceiling light remains on.

Are there any other switches that would affect the ceiling light?
