Hello Everyone...I was wondering has anyone on here done a K24 Swap into their 6th gen Accords? I'm thinking of doing that in the future if i keep my Accord long term...Thanks Engine Choices i have in mind: K24A2(2004-08 TSX) K24A8(2006-07 Accord) K24Z3(2008-12 Accord) K24W1(2013-17 Accord)
I have seen only 1 person attempt it, was never completed. https://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/threads/k24-swap.54870/#post-1121880
what's the reasoning behind k24 as opposed to h23 or h22 that essentially uses all the same mounts. flash capable tuning? I've seen one guy on youtube who had a turbo k series in a 4th gen prelude. he said it wasn't easy. seems like a lot of hassle to do fully custom mounting. not to mention intake and exhaust are flipped.
stock to stock sure. 2.4 is obviously bigger displacement and usdm h22 motors had relatively low compression. But, consider that you can easily use the money needed to adapt a k toward building the motor or running a power adder. I managed 199.2 whp NA on a h22. Nothing to brag about but then i ran a 100 shot of nitrous on top of that and went over 300whp. Granted the block was heavily reinforced.
New (er) technology for the last 20yrs. Same as the old debate of 350/383 sbc vs 4.8/5.3/6.0 LS engine.
right, funny I see a lot of k builds on civics, rsx, tsx, etc. Just can't seem to get interested. Not that I don't like newer motors or tech, have a TLX Aspec v6, with ktuner flashed ecu. Would never get the k24, but the newer 2.0T that has potential. Anyways enough of my rambling... To the OP, I wish you luck in whatever you do.
I actually have a new accord 1.5T and J35Y6 sitting here at work we assembled from spare parts of engine jobs. Just need timing components and fueling to drop into something.
