I was out last night and a friend notice coolant leaking from my car, like a very large amount.

So my car temp kept rising high and I had to pull over numerous times. I got to a friend house and took a look and notice the hose connected to the bottom of the radiator was off.

I reconnect the hose and added coolant but the temp of the car still went up even redlined once. I turned on the ac which help cool it but everytime I drived it kept goin up and had to keep pilling over. I only let it redline once.

Now I'm stuck and I'm praying my motor ain't cracked. Right now I'm still at a friends house 30 miles from home trying to figure it out.

Any help guys?

is the lower radiator hose cold when the car is warmed up?

is the upper hose rock hard when the car is warm?

does the fan turn on at the right time?

if all 3 are true, thermostat.

The inital "popping off" of the hose caused air to get in the system. You apparently didnt fill it back up with coolant correctly.

Make sure the reservoir is full. Take off the rad cap, turn the car on and while you are waiting for it to warm up, start filling the radiator until it doesnt take anymore, then when it is warmed up, watch the radiator in case it needs more.

well, my response was assuming that the system was bled after the hose was reattached and the radiator was refilled :lawl:

when the temp goes high, the thermostat is opened and the fan(s) turn on. if the temp needle is going up with the car technically cold but running, those things should start working immediately. there should be some kind of bleeder screw on the thermostat but i've never messed with the 6ga one so i cant help with the specifics unless i go and look at it :lawl: only use that if the engine is cold to purge the air if the temp keeps climbing without the thermostat opening. dont open it when the engine has been running for a while.

just went and looked, the bleeder screw is literally at the top of the thermostat...cant miss it.

well its easier to show than describe everything :lawl: this is in a 5th gen but its identical...

hop on wifi?

you still get unlimited data, just at like 200k. you're on here so you still have data :lawl:

get that mother loading and let it sit for 10 minutes. if you use m.youtube.com it should even compress it further, so it should be watchable at that speed. since im on the computer, heres the link for ease http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zUpXgAJ1gjU
