trannys fine, its a 99. im for sure that the 00'-02 had the tranny problems.

good car though, i have the v6 dep sedan '99 at 116 miles and my tranny is still perfect.

00-02 with the trans probs? Those years were covered through extended warranty, but the 98-99 had the same transmission....
I would get to autozone, check the code and look it up. Don't believe someones "word" that is trying to get rid of the car....
Also, as someone else brought up, ask why it was repainted, try and find out if there was ever an accident that wasn't filed with insurance..

00-01 has the problems... if the tranny becomes a real problem, you can bring the car to a dealership and they have to change it, by law.

Thanks guys. Guess I'll try to do the following:

Find out real reason behind code.
Take a peak under the car and check for leaks.
Ask about why it was repainted, any accidents, etc.
Go for highway drive and test out teh V6 powaaa to check for possible tranny problems.

LOL should be fun

Repainted...why other than just b/c they wanted to.

well when i saw the car, u would never know it was repainted, so im pretty sure DEP is the original color. raymond on the other hand stares at the paint with eagle eyes and sees crap that normal ppl wouldnt. as for the condition of the car, the body panels fit better than mine do. lol

i think its a good idea

i car fax report would be your best option as a starting point, gives you some direction
