Sort of. A guy who lives in my building and I became friends and he owns this 1977 Lotus Esprit S1. For you Bond fans, it's the same year as the one driven in The Spy Who Loved Me. Anyway, the wind blew the cover off so I snapped a few quick ones when I got home from work. Didn't have my camera on me, unfortunately. It's a sweet little car. And an awesome project.
Specs:
5spd MT u
2.0L 140hp motor
Fiberglass body
Weight ~2200 lbs.
Nought to 60 around 8 secs
Top speed around 133mph
The backstory: My friend was at an Estate sale (non-auction) on a farm, and the resident was showing him around the barn to see if he was interested in anything. In the corner he noticed the Lotus covered in dust and inquired about it. The guy had no idea what he had (not sure if it was his or what), but my friend (knew exactly what it was) ended up getting it for under $5000...and the car only has around 7000 miles. It looks like more since this guy didn't have it garaged properly, but besides the paint, roughed up trim, and faded interior..it is mint. The motor is super clean. This car has the biggest damn 4cyl I've ever seen, lol. Quite a motherload...Right place right time I guess. Even in its current state it would fetch far more than what he got it for.
And here's a terrible interior shot, lol. It's all suede in there, or a derivation of it. I'll try to get a better one tomorrow.
