I was recently pulled over and given a fix it ticket for my exhaust. I have a GReddy Evo2 exhaust. Do I have the option to just go to the CHP office and try and get it signed off with the exhaust on? I read around that you can have a modified exhaust in California as long as it doesn't break emission laws and is lower than 95db which I'm almost 100% sure it is.

Could use some help if possible :)

you can also shove black socks down into the exhaust so when you start it up it is quite. Don't drive with them in but once you get signed off pull em out

I wish I could slap a stock exhaust on... Don't have the money to go out and buy one and don't wanna take the time to install one.

That doesn't sound very safe, haha. Also, the people at the ref station I'm taking my car to are very thorough when they evaluate cars so I think they'd notice something like that.

Ya know, I got the same ticket and they said after all fees/fines it would come out to a little under $200 .. so I just opted to pay the bail out fee and be on my way. Not worth the time off work, going to the ref, pay the ref fees, then pay court fees. It's not a fix it ticket ..

Love Cali just not for sum of their laws... Years ago a friend of mine said after he got pulled over, officer asked him to pop the hood and test drove his car...what the hell? That's unreal! Glad I live in Florida, where you could legally ride open headers if you wish, even Jersey wasn't bad, pay a guy $100,got yourself new inspection!
