Lower balljoint problem

I removed my steering knuckle to replace balljoints and my lower balljoints i bought are really hard to move by hand like theyre stuck and the rubber boot on it moves freely like theres no grease in it. Is that normal? Same thing happen the last time. Ever since i changed my oem lower balljoints my steering has never been the same

You're supposed to have some thread to screw the nut on... and put the cotter pin. That would be the first picture.

Are you using OEM parts? Whenever I used to buy aftermarket parts, not only were they cheap as f*ck, but half the time the idiot gave me the wrong item. I only buy OEM now. Never had any problem since.

The rubber part is it suppose to look all squished here it is installed wothout the cotterpin

Don't worry about the rubber. That balljoint's manufacturer probably uses the same rubber for dozens of models. Just make sure everything is tight and you can't hear any knock.
