I was in Autozone about a week ago buying my usual Lucas Oil fuel additive, and came across 2 different transmission oil additives that Lucas Oil sells. They really got me thinking if I should try either product in my tranny before or after a tranny oil change sometime next month. But I thought I should post them up here before i try one of them out, just incase you guys think it won't do any good for my 125k original auto transmission. I've posted the links for both products bellow. Lucas Transmission Fix: http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=29&catid=9&loc=show&headTitle=%20-%20Lucas%20Transmission%20Fix Lucas Oil ATF Conditioner: http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=270&catid=9&loc=show&headTitle=%20-%20Lucas%20Oil%20Automatic%20Transmission%20Fluid%20Conditioner
youve got nothing to lose in that case, plus it wasnt to pricey if i remember. mine works fine, so i would get worried that i would be messing with it...and kill it. thats why im lookin for some input if i should give it a try.
i tried it when my a/t trans was slipping ... it helped a bit but it won't bring your trans back to life though
well mine is good except for a slight shudder from 2nd to 1st, knock on wood . I just wanna know if either product will not hurt my tranny if i use it with my current oil or after i change it soon.
Transmission fix gave me about 5,000 more miles out of my ttansmission before i was ready to swap 5 speed. If ur not having issues then just leave it alone. If you have always serviced ur transmission then change the fluid. If your fluid is already all brown, leAve it unless you want to risk a slipping transmission for cleaner fluid.
