From a local, reputable "transmission-only" shop: $900-1,100 rebuilt (as always, assuming no hard parts are broken)

Damn, that's cheap if it includes labor for remove/replace. I asked a few places here and they were close to $2K.

Yes, $900 is a fairly low price...but I checked with the Better Business Bureau to see how they handle any dissatisfied customers. Every company has some dissatisfied customers, so I don't hold that fact against them, but they show that they have handled all complaints in a proper manner...which basically means that they aren't trying to rip people off.

By the way, this shop is a freakin' huge operation! Their one shop that is down the street from me has 20 bays devoted to just transmission service! If anyone is in South Florida just give them a call...(and then let me know how your transmission goes...before I spend my own money Thanks!).
