i had all three of these codes last winter at the same time. new fuel pressure regulator solved p0170 and p0171. as far as p0420 goes, the cel will come and go, but if it keeps coming and going on a regular basis, you will need a new cat. i got a new one on a goodwill move from the dealer...at 126000 miles :D:D not one cel for 11 months

P0420 isn't an engine misfire..I'm sure you've figured that out by now but misfires are..

P0301 - 71 - Cylinder no. 1 misfire detected
P0302 - 72 - Cylinder no. 2 misfire detected
P0303 - 73 - Cylinder no. 3 misfire detected
P0304 - 74 - Cylinder no. 4 misfire detected

and I don't even see a P0170 code in the Haynes manual?

Hey, sorry for the bump.

So this morning, as I was about to pull into my spot at school, the engine cut. So I put it in neutral, push a little, and restart it. (It wouldn't restart before, and the key was locked). Kinda scary.

So at lunch, I took it for a drive in the local neighborhood and on the highway, and noticed that my RPM got really low right before I was about to stop. So I figure my engine cut this morning because of the low RPM.

So I dropped my friend off, and with the sound system off, I could feel/hear it rattle when the RPM dropped. FYI, my RPM can drop to about ~333 , and I idle at about ~666-500 (guessing by the dashes).

So, refresher, I still have a P0420 [Catalyst system Efiency below threshhold] and a P0171/2 [Fuel system too Lean/Rich]. What do you guys think I should do? F23A1 with 107k-ish.

Thanks!

your cat is clogged.

start the car and walk to the back (leave it in park lol). put your hand to the exhaust pipe and see if theres anything coming out.
