Need Advice on Timing Belt Replacement!

Hey everyone,

I am going to be replacing my timing belt and water pump soon on my 01 v6 coupe. What other (seals, etc...) should I be doing while I have everything apart? Should I replace engine mounts during the process as well? I have 183k currently and the last timing belt and water pump was done about 80k ago.

No need to mess with motor mounts unless you find that they are bad upon inspecting, or you are feeling vibrations/jerks. Same with seals unless there are leaks, etc...but probably good preventative maintenance to change them.

I was planning on doing the same maintenance. I was just going to buy the timing belt and water pump kit on ebay. Not sure if the kit is good tho, but it does include all the seals.

Also, If you replace the mounts you should replace all the mounts. So, that you could avoid making three new and two old. The old ones will eventually break at some point. You don't want there to be a weak link. I changed my tranny and end up changing all the mounts. My car was 230xxx miles and the mounts had never been changed before. All the mounts were broken. Once I changed the mounts the car felt a lot lighter.
