Just picked up two Alienbees AB800s and 13ft air-cushioned light stands last week and have been dying to test them out. I'm going to be purchasing a Vagabond soon for all my location shoots but for now I just carry some long extension cords with me. This is my first time using the Bees, but not my first time using studio lights in general so I'm not a complete n00b I think. My brother has gotten really good at fire spinning and we've been wanting to do a shoot for a while now. Anyways, setup was as follows:

AB800 camera left as main light @ 1/2 power
AB800 behind subject for fill @ 1/4 power
580EXII camera right as fill @ full power

Taken with my Rebel XTi & EF-S 10-22, shots are 100% straight out of camera, the only editing was cropping a couple of them. I never post un-edited shots, but the lighting really makes these in my opinion. Let me know what you all think. Would love c/c!

I love these!

Except I hate seeing the lighting in the shot...

Just wondering, what were the settings for the ambient exposure?
