First let me introduce myself since I'm new to this forum, my name is ricky and I drive a 2000 accord ex v6 sedan with 158000 miles with a freshly rebuilt tranny as of 2 weeks ago. I Recently was presented with the opportunity to pick up a j35 engine out of a 2002 odyssey and was wondering if it would swap in with ease and mate up to my j30a tranny. What would I need for this swap to work? New ecu? Harnesses? Or can I drop in the new engine alone and use the same j30 ecu and transmission?

I'm sure it will take some custom work. Also running it on the V6 auto tranny probably isnt smart seeing as the tranny probably wont hold out too long, maybe longer cause it was just replaced. Any one here will recommend going with a 6speed tranny swap too.

Yeah that's where I run into a problem, I have been unable to find a tranny, and I. Found a guy who has a j35 that he'll part out of his odyssey for 150 bucks, good deal to me ;) so I wanted to know if I could just pick it up and put it in, and the place that rebuilt my tranny offered a warranty against failure.

That's a great deal but in sure pairing up the tranny with a more powerful engine with void that warranty lol. Get the engine and keep looking for a tranny and swap parts

This.

I wouldn't bother bolting up a more powerful motor to that 4spd auto. It can't even handle the J30.
