Rubbing sound

    Last friday while driving the CG to OIA and back to get a rental Traverse High Country for the move to college, I was feeling something was rubbing while putting the break on to slow the car. I haven't got a recording of it, since I was mostly focused on arriving safely to my destinations. I am going to be taking the car to Honda this saturday, as dad has the Acura and I have the Rogue. This rubbing motion/sound is coming from the drivers side, as I can feel it while using the breaks. Any assumptions or ideas on what is causing this?

    Any shaking in the wheel? What does this rubbing sound like? Does the rotor look to have normal wear or is there scoring? Check to see if both pads are wearing evenly as well.

    The steering wheel aint straight and is more of like a 10 to 15 degree clockwise off when the car is "straight in line" at a standstill, if that is any helpful info. The rubbing sounds like some suspension part is at its grave and I can feel it alot more than before. I had the mech check everything last month, and he said everything is good. I havent had a chance to check the rotors nor the pads themselves at as I clearly dont have the tools anymore.

    Things to double check would be pads, rotors and calipers if it’s only on braking. Cv axle is worth double checking as is the hub. It could just be the stone shield running on the rotor. Easiest way to check is jack the car up, put it in neutral and spin the wheel by hand.

    You can visually inspect these.

    Visually inspect isnt the correct way for this mess... dealer found few things after test drive with me. The mech didn't install the axle properly and the wheel bearing is **** again (front passenger side), and bunch of other stuff.. (also i am not sure how part of my brake pads is missing).     That is WAAAAYY too much money lol. But at least you know it’s done correctly. And if not at least you have a sort of guarantee that it’s done correctly.

    Wow I paid 40 bucks for my shop to press out the old bearing and install the new bearing that cost me 30 dollars.

    The front driver axle was about 130 and a set of moog upper control arms are around 250-300 for the set. Almost 600 for a set of UCAs is robbery IMO.

    IMO you way overpaid for that work. But my mechanic lets me bring my own parts.


    Find you a good mechanic and shop.

    I didnt had the dealer do the bearings at all, since they were expensive. I am having my mech redo the bearing for safety reasons.
