I took a trip down to SD yesterday, I decided to reset my trip mileage counter. I wanted to see how far it really was from Murrieta to certain area of SD. When I got down there, I decided to fill her up. Later on as I was driving back home, I look at the trip counter and it was around 750. WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Theres no way in hell did I accumulate that much, I didnt go that far. What do you guys think happen? Some kinda electrical glitch? My ride has approximately 178K on it.

Was it on trip 1 or trip 2? Instead of resetting it, are you positive you didn't just swap the trip mileage from one to the other?

+1...I've done that before and thought WTF too lol.
If you press it once it goes from Trip1 to Trip2. If you press it and hold it it'll reset the trip you are on to 0 but the other trip will keep accumulating from whereever it was.

Smaller tires will also cause the same issue, but I don't think it would be that drastic.
