I've owned an 89 Si 2.0 and a '91 Si 4WS. If you get lucky and get a solid B20A5 in the '89, they are frickin' bulletproof. If you're going for a stock cruiser, that's a big bonus. With those sleeves, it's either hit or miss. That's from my experience anyway. I LOVE the Preludes. Back when Honda took chances for the sake of taking chances. "I want this car to have the lowest hood line of any production car ever." "Why?" "So it has the lowest hood line. No other reason." "Awesome. Let's do it!" "To do that, we're gonna' need to tilt the engine so we can drop that line a couple inches." "Sounds good to us." How AWESOME was that? Same reliability with the B21A1...At the end, the entire car was just falling apart...but it ran like a champ and never lost a drop of oil. The only thing I ever did to that motor was change the oil and replace the plugs and wires when I got it. I would still own the '91 had someone not pulled some BS on me.
The engine in it seems pretty solid. I'll be changing the oil, plugs, wires and distributor items here in the next week or so.
