Awhile back I swapped out the gross vinyl wheel in my '01 EX sedan for a leather wrapped wheel from a TL. I was stoked to find that it had audio controls, which my previous wheel did not have. (Steering wheel audio controls were standard on the EX-L 4cyl, but mine has cloth seats) I know I need a new clock spring with the wire for the radio controls, but do I need a new radio wiring harness even though it's the same radio as the EX-L and V6? (OEM CD Changer) I wanna make sure I have all the parts together before I try the installation. Thanks!

wow, I really don't know, it should have wheel controls wired in the radio plug, but it's hard to find that....IDK if your car is prewired for that. You may even run into a problem starting at the clock-spring connector.

First check if the wires are available to the radio. (I doubt it because when I was doing heated seats the slots where there but no fuse or wires) Even while helping Red Ryder he didn't have passenger plugs for the seat. Anyways on your radio harness look at pin 3 it should be Green/Red. Please remember that is for a v6 not sure if it changes for 4cyc. I had the 6 disc changer (if that matters) That is the wire for remote control. It's just 1 wire works on resistance. The actual control has 2 but 1 is ground. I'll check if the 4cyc. Has a different wire layout. (It shouldn't, harnesses for aftermarket radios don't differ from 4cyc to v6) Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

When I did mine I had to add the wiring from the car side of the clock spring connector all the way to the radio. I snagged the connector with a short length of the wiring when I got my clock spring. I had an aftermarket radio already installed so all I had to do was to get an Axxess ASWC and wire it up. It wasn't terribly hard but my controls are still slightly wonky but I don't use them that often.
