Just wanted to see if anyone had some good suggestions for me for a new digital camera. I'm just using a 4 MP Kodak Easyshare right now and want to get something a little better. At the same point I dont want to go out there and spend $1000 like I know I could. Help? :)

You can get a Canon Powershot S3 IS 6.1 MP, a Nikon D50 ( Low $500's ) etc etc.. I have a Canon Powershot S2 and im very pleased with it you can look in the photography section and my members ride and you will see the pics ive taken with mine :)

I would suggest the new Nikon D40...very good entry level DSLR camera...smaller then other SLRs and it is priced very good..You can get the kit for 600

Canon is a high class camera but if your in a budget, you should go with Fujifilm. i've had mine for more than 3 years now and it's been great. i think the quality of this camera would def. beat all the other brands minus Canon. if you want those huge camera (not portable ones), this is what i would do. first is go to a pawn shop and find the camera itself, then buy batteries, lens, etc. online.

Not a bad camera, but only a 2 MP jump from what I have now for almost 600, don't know about that.

Canon Rebel EOS Digital SLR

Now that's a nice camera, think I may do a little more research into that one. Sure has a lot of buttons :D

MP's don't mean a better pic so don't go buy a camera just cuz of the MP's.. If you didn't know that then I suggest you do a bit more research before buying anything.

well, megapixel gives the color to the picture. but for a better picture is another question. but MP means a lot if you know how to adjust it physically(tripod, light output, etc) and mentally (adjusting controls).

Megapixels are not really that big of a deal as stated by isteal..my old camera was just 4 megapixels and the pictures was amazing..people thought i had an SLR camera..if your picking your camera solely on megapixels that is not a good thing to do..the body of the camera really isn't THAT big either..it is mainly about the lens you get..

If you go the Canon route be prepared to spend more...Canon has some really good stuff esp their new Image Stabilizer lens...but they typically cost a fair amount more then Nikon stuff..
