So, I've been trying to read around and get some answers for this problem, but couldn't find a clear answer. The problem is that my temp gauge isn't working after my h22/manual swap on my 01 accord. I basically know the problem which is that the 98-00 used a direct to dash sensor(?) and then 01-02 used a ECU to dash sensor. I wanna know if there is possibly a fix for this. I really don't want to use a aftermarket gauge to find out my engine's temp. If someone can help clearly define the problem with the temp sensor that'd be great too and a fix would be nice too. Thanks.

i don't know from personal experience, but from what I've been reading from my research, all you have to do us find a 98-00 cluster, and drop it in. It should work after that.

Thanks

From my experience you pretty much need a different cluster. I took sending unit from the 99 motor and placed on my 00 and ran the wire from the unit and tapped into the wire for the temp gauge on harness. Temp needle went straight to the top. I then swapped 5 speed cluster in and it started working properly. I didn't detach wire after cluster swap, so not sure if you need to do both or just swap cluster first. Hope this helps!

Okay, so what you're saying is that I would have to get the ECT sensor from an 98-00 and put that on my car and wire it into the harness and get a different cluster? By the way where'd you get a manual cluster from? Can't find one anywhere.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I did. I found a wrecked 5 speed accord and got the whole car, so I just got it outta that. Thinking bout selling my car though.
