Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been on; been going to school full-time (Mechanical Engineering) & working 3 jobs...
Anyhow, I got out of school the other week & was looking at doing a bunch of repairs/mods to my car...until it happened. My rebuilt trans (the one that I got rebuilt last year) decided to start slipping this week & I don't have the time or money to fix it. I think that I am just going to see how long it goes & then shoot it...or something.

I don't know what the car is worth with a tranny that is ())ed out, but I have some parts that I haven't put on yet if anyone is interested. I have lightbulbs, an ignition coil & some other parts that I have still sitting in the packages. I'll put them on the FS thread later after I get pics of them.

Either way, if anyone needs any parts off of the car, I may eventually just part it out. Not at the moment, but eventually.

I wish I had the money for a 5-speed because the car runs so good...except for the broken CV boot.

Later.

Sucks, sorry to hear. You said the trans got replaced last year, has it been a full year yet? I thought they were warrantied for 1 full year when rebuilt, but I may be wrong.

There seriously needs to be a "Transmission Failure" sub forum on here. So many people posts about their automatic transmission failures its becoming annoying.

Anyhow, I would just put a 5 speed in it if you can do the work yourself.

who did your tranny? they might have you automatically under an extended warranty plan (or the automatic basic isnt done yet). going off of mine, its 12k or 12 months and extended 36k/months. if so, call em back...they will have you on file if its over 500 bucks

I've been trying to figure it out what went bad with the tranny; it didn't slowly start slipping...I was actually doing 85 down the highway for about 1.5 hours & then let off the gas. Once I put my foot back on the pedal, there was nothing; the engine just revved.

I'm looking at the warranty info & it seems that they replaced the 2 pressure sensors when they replaced the tranny. So maybe a sensor just went. Either way, I am going to go there tomorrow since I had it done in July 2009...but that was also 24,000 miles ago for me.

Thanks for the replies & I'll see tomorrow what will happen & then post the findings; I sure hope that it's an easy fix....like I said, it just went all of a sudden, which can be a good thing
