Thanks, unfortunately I don't have access to trying any of the 190 series tripods from Manfrotto so it's difficult to figure out if it would be more comfortable for me or not. I'm about 5'9" so I'm at a tough height for these tripods...either the column all the way down with the 055 or the column raised quite a bit with the 190.
Yes, the local store also carried Induro, Gitzo, and Smith/Victor tripods...I just really like the Manfrotto 055 and 190 series tripods. Unfortunately, the shop won't re-stock their inventory with the 190 series tripods for approximately two weeks, so I was hoping to get some input from you guys as I'm trying to order the tripod & head combination today or tomorrow.
