tried the "mod" just now...if i felt like messing with it more, it'd come out nice. oh well. i was hoping for a "drop in" but it moves the shield too far back, even though it's like .01" thick or something...

well, my projectors take custom shields great (like...amazing difference) and i had some made out of really thin metal. they weren't good cause its hard to make the cutoff step look good.

since you mentioned shield painting, i tried to slip that piece of metal in front of the stock shield since one side is silver, and the other side is gold. i have pics somewhere but it looks ****ing wicked.

problem is...even that little spacing put the shield closer to the bulb, making the cutoff less sharp. not noticeably so (the headlight lens kills most of the sharpness) but still not worth the loss even though colored shields look sweet.
