VTECH solenoid wire

I need to remove completely the VTECH solenoid from the car and thoroughly clean out and also replace both gaskets. I can get to the solenoid 3 bolts rather easily which attach it to the engine block, but a single wire that is attached to the solenoid cylinder needs to be removed before I can completely remove the VTECH from the car-my question is how do I take off the single wire connected to the solenoid cylinder?

Most of those plugs take a small flathead screwdriver and some patience along with a lot of wiggling here and there
