I don't feel like taking my coil overs apart and I know that I could get a quick answer here to the sizing of the springs the function and form type ones use.

Also is stock springs rate 12/6?

this doesn't answer my question though? I just need the sizing of the spring and I looked here but couldnt find it

It confirms your question about the spring rates. Surprised there's nothing in that entire thread about the coil specs though.

I'm guessing they aren't given since switching out springs can be a harmful decesion. Is switching from 12 to 14kg alot though?

not sure if the type 2 are the same as type 1 but theyre:

front: 180mm spring with inner diameter of 2.5"
rear: 220mm spring with inner diameter of 2.5"

It's a decent increase, but I wouldn't call it a sizeable jump. Meaning the difference in ride comfort will be noticeable, but it won't be night and day. In kg/mm 12 and 14 sound hugely different, but in lb/in, 12k = 672 and 14k = 784...and from all the things I learned when I was looking for custom rates, ~100 pound difference isn't a lot. That's my experience anyway.

One important thing when messing w/spring rates is keeping the new front/rear rates somewhat proportional to the old. You want the front and rear to jump by the same amount, ideally.
