02 EX V6. The SRS warning light is now on all the time. I'm wanting to read the codes from the SRS module using the flashing SRS indicator light before I try clearing the SRS memory. Probably a well covered subject here.

Got all the details on how to do it from the official Honda service manual. The manual has a couple of poorly detailed images vaguely showing where the service check connector is supposed to be. According to the manual, it's a two pin connector that is plugged into a dummy plug for storage somewhere under the passenger side dash or maybe in front of the console.

I've looked all over and under this area, and I CAN'T FIND IT. I guess I could trace the wires from the SRS module to find it, but it looks like I'll have tear the dash and console apart to get to it to do that. Please tell me there is an easier way.

Thanks!

Its under the driver's panel, if you are talking about pulling codes without the scanner.
Also, if SRS light is on, most likely its your driver's side seat buckle issue. Very common problem on those cars

Update:

The copy of the service manual I have has been lying to me.

After downloading a different copy of the service manual from another site (here, many thanks! :) ), I find out that there is a wide variation of wiring schemes between year models. The manual I have (which I paid $25 for) didn't tell me that. The '02 EX doesn't have a 2-pin Service Check Connector. SRS data is fed to the main ECM and can only be read through the OBD2 connector. I wish I had figured that out before I tore the dash and console out looking for that freakin' connector!

Now, all I have to do is figure out the best way to read the codes.

Thanks, Volo!

Yep. It's code 9-3. The nearest Honda dealer is a hundred miles away, and wants to charge me a $50 non-refundable diagnosis fee. The part is about $100 or so from half a dozen online Honda parts dealers. I just bit the bullet and ordered a new buckle.
