So I need some lenses but I am poor, thus rental seems like an option. So far Vistek is my only choice in Toronto. If you know other places, feel free to recommend. Now I am not sure which lens I should rent for these scenarios:

1. Wild life & sports
2. Events in auditorium (given I will be sitting fairly back & there is very less amount of light)
3. Night photography
4. Small events such as bday etc
5. Landscape with large angle of view

Here is the link that has current Canon lens line up. I have a Canon Rebel T1i. Thanks in advance guys!

Just one lens for all those? Or one for each?

What do you have now?

I would say one for each category. Not sure if there is such lens which could be used in all these events. I have 18-55mm and 50mm f1.8 lens now :).

lensrentals.com is where I get mine...but shipping to Canada is $70 round trip I believe..Amazing rates, and turnaround. I rented the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 for like $100 shipped and had it for about 8 days. Your time doesn't start until the day you get it, and they sent it to me 2 days before I reserved to have it.

For #1 It really depends on you. Are you wanting a fixed focal length supertelephoto for wildlife? I personally think your best bet for this would be the 70-200 f2.8. It will be really fast and sharp, but still give you the option to zoom in or out.

I think this is a realistic selection for a guy wanting one lens for each category. It's not like he's buying them. If you want to do wildlife, a 70-200 isn't gonna cut it.

You gotta pay to play.

if u dont have the money, use the lens u have not and make it work... lens rentals is a good place, ive rented from there before and i will continue to do so. if u want a lens to do all of that, i suggest the 70-200mm IS or the 24-105mm wide angle

well the 300mm ain't cheap to rent....

I'd recommend 100-400 for wildlife and 24-70L for everything else he needs
