Sounds like you have a short to power or it might be as simple that your brake pedal is sticking a little, Try to wiggle to pedal if that doesnt work then check the wires going from the brake pedal to the tail lights.

Lay on your back and look up where your pedal connects to the pivot point and you should see a switch that is resting on the pedal bar. Trace those wires.

I had this issue a few weeks ago also. On the brake pedal there is a stopper/plug thing that broke and was not making contact with the brake light switch, which resulted in the switch being stuck open like it would be if I were to press the pedal. I just taped a quarter to where the plug should have been on the pedal, so that the switch can function. Might be worth checking.. just look towards the top of the brake pedal where the switch is and make sure the plug is there in front of it

I want to bump this thread, instead of starting another...

I have the plastic pieces on the floor from the brake light switch, so I know its gonzo. I am going to call honda tomorrow, its around $30 online, part number 36750-SEA-003.

My real question, does anyone have a temporary solution until the part shows up? I will call and see if anyone has one local, but I dont want to pay out the @ss for a $30 switch. Let me know of any temp/quick solutions. For now, the battery is disconnected.

Thanks guys...

Just happened to my cr-v autozone has them for $9 it's the brake pedal sensor. Just a tip when you install, replace the old plastic clip with the new one. Just my 2 cents..

I think Advance Auto has them for $25 or so... OEM or not doesn't matter too much here.
