hey guys. just picked up a 99 coupe accord. auto ulev with a blown head gasket. for only a 1000 which i think is cheap. i have a spare f23a1 in my garage, so i was wondering if this motor will run on that ulev ecu? or is there no difference between the ecu's? it would be alot easier for me to just swap the motor out than do the gasket and try to clean all that milky gunk out of the engine water jackets. plus the head might be worped. i didnt get a chance to take the motor apart n look at it yet. anyone?

There is a diff in ECUs and yes i think you can run that motor but u will always have a CEL (check engine light) because there is something different with emissions....i have a Ulev motor with a non-ulev ecu and i cant get rid of my CEL cuz the 02 sensors are different on both motors...

The car i got has evrything ulev in it. I'm gonna use the o2 sensors and the ecu that came on the car. And i just looked up the difference in motors. The ulev motor has only 2hp & 2tq less. I think it will work no problem. Thanks for responding guys.
