will this battery tie down work with my battery

ok i got an after market tie down. it looks just like this but its perfectly flat.

here is my battery that i got in the car

now the stock tie down sits in the center of the 2 service caps. here is the stock on cliffsta's engine

and my final question is. since i dont have the stock battery it sits on top of the batter tray not inside it perfectly. would any harm come if i take the battery tray out and not use it at all?

the batt tray holds the rods and the rods hold the batt tie down. for saftey(i.e. sharp turns) and the use your tie down. id say leave yours in

if you already bought it...just save it and get a battery that works with it when your current battery goes out...i guess you could try to use it with some longer battery hold downs...if you wanna go that route...
