2002 EX 4cyl, 85K miles. Runs great.

On very cold mornings, temp below 20F, car cranks very well, but will not
start unless I tap the gas pedal once or twice while cranking. Then it runs fine.

What could be the problem?

Thanks.

Try priming it a few times befor you crank it and then retry...or give it some time as it primes and do not turn it on/crank it in one shot.

That's somewhat normal. Fuel will freeze slightly when it's that cold. There was one time I could start my car for 6 hours until it thawed out. Luckily none of the lines burst.

Now it is, most of this E10 crap has water in it. So expect it. Even when they decide to push it to E15

It was 30 degrees this morning, and the car started normally.
I will try priming the pump next time it gets cold.
Thanks.
