^MS has officially released statements saying it’s not backwards compatible. I first found out in the link I posted on the previous page.

Maybe in time you'll be able to play 360 games via Arcade, but it doesn't sound like you will be able to ever insert a 360 disc into an XB1.

Cant read because its blocked but I'll believe it when I see it. Sony and Microsoft have said the same thing in the past.

I'm also saying that Chris is right, it's not going to be backwards compatible. I've read like three articles going on about it, it's not happening.

the 360 uses PowerPC, and the One is using an x86 platform. They can't mesh together, so no 360 games.

also, it seems it's not going to be an actual lock down on used games, it's going to be a fee anyone that borrows your game will have to pay to be allowed to use it on their system, and then that friend can install it on their system I believe and as long as it stays on their system it can run without the disc or something? I mean, that's not *terrible* actually if it's only $10 being paid for a $60 game, but they could easily make it a lot worse somehow.

they also said that if you play your game on your friend's One, but log in using your account info, there is no sharing fee applied.

meanwhile in Sony land, both ps3 emulation in the works and no region locking from the start

I personally don't like the design of it. It's characterless. Same reason I don't like the original 360 and the PS3 Slim and Super Slim.

And tech-specs wise there really isn't anything special about it. Nothing that jumps out.

I have always had PlayStations and will continue to do so with the PS4.

until uhhh...yesterday...those were the rumors. microsoft themselves said months ago they were looking at locking down used games. and until yesterday, again, they had said the xbox would be "always on" but hadnt backed down on that statement.

im happy to be proven wrong because i really want to get one (no pun intended :lawl:). try as i may, i cant get back into PC gaming with all the issues (hardware, origin/EA, keyboard/mouse being hard to get used to, etc)...so i like the turn on and play nature of a console.
