EDIT>>> Look in the later pages (Page 43) to find the videos, final pics, etc. Most recent FLYBY video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRveRn2FzOU Here's one, as an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nio5fl-5jPc&context=C3167ef3ADOEgsToPDskIpLOv0v4TwkjHqXDuY3Ath And here's a 30-140mph run, boost controller on low. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7VEN41YOOQ&context=C3e6634aADOEgsToPDskL548oFSYdnTfpFZz9eZ1Dp After pouring about $30,000 into my Z32, I've decided to turn to the infamous RB26DETT from a R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R (95-99 GT-R). This swap is more common in 240sx's because they make parts for the swap. For the 300zx, everything must be hand fabricated. ...and for the RB26 Swap: day one: working on dissassembly the 75 POUND awd oil pan (replaced with the RB25DET oil pan) Further disassembly (that's stuff from removing the spark plugs that fell into the cylinders... it's gone now) New valve cover set (ballin$$$ from Nissan Japan)...about $1300...ouch. That's where I'm at right now... still waiting for the head from the machine shop, but I'll be reassembling it here in a week or so. Running a Power FC D-Jetro for management. Turbo is a Borg Warner s300sx (basically a GT40R).
$1300 for valve cover? i could have pick u up a set since i will be in JDMland next week but props to u and ur build tho.. very impressive... just wondering, wat do u need to fabricate to make the motor fit?
Thanks guys! The head will be done this evening and I'll run and pick it up. I"m still waiting on my head gasket to show up (backordered from Japan at LEAST 2 more weeks...Tomei 5 layer MLS head gasket)... things definately don't happen in a hurry with getting parts for this bad boy.
I don't know if anyone cought my license plate, but it's GODZRA (think of a Japanese man saying "godzilla!"..that's how it's supposed to sound.... and it's the engine out of GODZILLA! (the Nissan Skyline GT-R).. hah.
She is a Fair Lady indeed..... beautiful car.....and i have a friend who jus swapped the RB26 in his kouki...that was a *****...i cant imagine the hassle in the Z....love this car
