Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

Received the part today. Switched out the cylinder 1 coil pack (which was originally in cylinder 3), and reset CEL. Rough idle was significantly better, if not nonexistant, upon startup. Drove around a bit, apprx. 10 miles of mixed highway/city driving, with no issues - no CEL. Looks like...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

Found the below on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Honda-30520-P8E-S01-Coil-Complete/dp/B00BFDHTZA/ Looks like there's an option to order the same part through Amazon LLC itself for $60, which is great because I have Prime. Ordering today, will check back in later in the week once I've...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

Okay. Is this a part you'd recommend only getting OEM? Or would an aftermarket replacement be suitable?

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

Coil pack from cyl. 3. So it seems obvious to replace that. But what about the initial code showing a cyl. 6 misfire? Could that have been a misread? Could it just be that I didn't drive enough after the switch/reset before running the codes? Part of me thinks it may be worth switching...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

So I was just able to do this, and reset the CEL by unplugging the clock radio fuse. When I first started the car back up, the sputtering/rough idling was pretty bad. Took it for a drive, and the CEL returned, flashing, about an 1/8 mile down the road. No TCS, not immediately, anyways...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

Thanks, definitely will do. I've averaged right around 20mpg for awhile now, mostly city driving. Does that seem about par for the course for a V6 3.0? It's always felt a bit low, but that's how it's always been for me (only owned the car since 2010). The exhaust has had a mild off/on...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

How would I go about doing that? Definitely noticed a raw fuel smell since the time the CEL began flashing, and upon the couple times I started up since (not driven, only to perform an unplug test of the coil packs).

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

Thanks for the information. I'll try that - did not get a chance the last couple days, and wanted to pick up a spark plug socket. Realize that the paper/socket trick is often used, but considering I can get the right tool for a few bucks, figured it would be best to do it right. Obviously...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

I'll try the switch today and see what happens. The vehicle has had a slightly rough idle for awhile, but it was noticeably worse in the minutes before the CEL began flashing. Also notice a strong smell of raw fuel. One question: What's COP? Will report back once I've performed the...

Flashing CEL, TCS Indicator, Misfire Codes

To start, I have a 2002 Accord EX V6, approx. 68,000 miles. I was idling in a drive-thru the other day when I noticed some sputtering of the engine. Pulled off to the side, turned the vehicle off, turned it back on, and upon backing out of the parking space, my CEL (which has been on for a...

Check Engine Light, and Whole Bunch of OBDII Codes

So, you were right. I switched out the primary O2 sensor, and as soon as I started the car back up, the CEL turned off. So that takes care of that. The secondary O2 sensor is stuck pretty good, however, and I may need to grab a breaker bar to get it off. Since it wasn't causing the primary...

Check Engine Light, and Whole Bunch of OBDII Codes

I did see the universal ones - after reading (I believe somewhere on this forum) that the OEM sensors are Denso anyways, and I had already located a few on Amazon before going to the Denso site to be sure I had the right part nos., so I was already comfortable with the price of the OE's.

Check Engine Light, and Whole Bunch of OBDII Codes

This is very helpful, thanks! The OBD scanner AutoZone used had a much smaller display screen, and literally only displayed what I listed below (and pretty much one word at a time). I didn't see any indication that these were "OK," but I suppose that could have been because it was just a cheap...

Check Engine Light, and Whole Bunch of OBDII Codes

No print out, unfortunately - I just threw what the OBDII device was reading into a draft text message while the AutoZone employee scrolled through. If the non-code phrases (CATALYST, EVAP, etc.) coming through the scanner weren't problem codes, what were they? MISFIRE sounds especially...

Check Engine Light, and Whole Bunch of OBDII Codes

So I took my 2002 Accord EX V6 3.0L Coupe, Automatic Transmission (66,600 miles) off the road back in early 2013, for various reasons, mostly because I was using public transit for work. I finally got it back on the road a couple weeks ago - siphoned the old gas out through the fuel pump...
