4k rpm?

sometimes my car doesn't go pass 4k rpm and even if it does vtec doesn't seem to kick in? anyone have any idea what might be wrong? any sensors i should check? need help thanks

sounds like a silly question but is your CEL on?

if vtec doesnt engage it could possibly be an oil pressure issue..i know if you have low oil pressure vtec won't engage and if it gets low past a certain point your ecu will throw your car into limp mode and wont go past 4k...check your oil...if its low fill it..hopefully that fixes it..if not you might have a bigger issue like a bad vtec solenoid
