Poking around the engine bay working on the alternator, I noticed that my balancer pulley has a bit of wobble in it. Also, getting a bit of vibration in the steering wheel at idle.

Does the balancer need to be replace (dreading that because of crankshaft bolt horror stories)? Or could there be something else?

It's a 99 Accord EX 4D, 87k miles.

Here is a quick vid. If more vid/info is needed let me know.

The key way might've fallen out (although unlikely) but I would replace it. Especially with that low of mileage it's odd that it would have a wobble. Has someone been in there before and done a timining belt?

Yeah late 2011 dealership did the timing belt water pump change. I'll have to double check the paperwork when I get home.

Quick question. To get the old balancer pulley off and put a new one on, do I have to take the valve cover and upper timing covers off? Or can I just pop the pulley off and reverse for the new one?

you'll need to loosen the alternator and power steering pump to reinstall the belts
