When I am driving in low gears and I hit the gas my car kinda lunges forward a few times until the rpms get up to about 3k. Any ideas why? It is a manual

What happens to your RPM when the car lunges forward or rather, what happens right after it lunged forward?

Any ideas why? It is a manual

Maybe your clutch is starting to slip. How long have you been driving this car? How long have you been driving a stick? Need more info.

It just does the lunging a bit then accelerates like normal. Yes mostly 1st but not all the time. Sometimes second. I've only had this car a few months, I've only ever had a clutch so I'm pretty experienced with one. WOT, sometimes but about 2/3 gas is all it needs to make it happen when it does.

does it lunge if you start in second gear?

how many miles on the car? OEM clutch?

I believe it is oem. 172k on it, it doesn't really do it in second gear.

how do the motor mounts look? i know mine should probably be replaced, im at 168k, and it lunges a little bit as well sometimes, which i'm sure is due to the engine moving around a bit.

if they're cracking and generally look like shit haha.

It appears to have a ring of oil around the front driver mount. I didn't know they were filled, should I replace it?
