I had a similar thread over at E-H and it seemed pretty successful. As some of you might know, I work at a shop in MA called Dent Sport Garage. There we do a lot of custom fabrication, performance upgrades, engine swaps, and race acr builds.
This is our slower season, given that the race season is over and doesnt start back up until early spring. But we still have a few cool projects around the shop that people might be interested in. I'll try to update this thread regularly, or as needed to when something cool comes into the shop.
I'm actually going to start with a car that we had nothing to do with. This car belongs to the owner of a local body shop, but it was so cool I had to snap a few pics.
This a track ready RX-7 that used to compete in Canadian Le Mans. We were making a custom manifold and exhaust system and tuning it. It was a really well built track car.
A couple weeks ago I did a clutch on an 05 TSX. It was similar to doing it on our accords, but the subframe on the TSX is much more inclusive.
We often do string alignments at the shop for race cars, (and personal cars). As we decided to buy a dyno before investing in an alignment rack. It was a very wise decision. Thats my buddy Scot in these pics, he is our suspension specialist. When he isnt at the shop he is working the pits for the TRG Porsche American Le Mans team.
The nissan in the front here has an SR20 from and S13. Its a drift a car that belongs to a friend of ours at the shop. I recently finished an entire engine and chassis harness and it's waiting to get picked up. The EVO behind it also belongs to a good friend of ours, it is a dedicated hill climb car.
This EVO X belongs to another friend of ours. Its at the shop getting a full titanium cat back exhaust fabricated. Ill see if I can get some pics of the exhaust today. Its so incredibly light! Probably about 15% of the weight of the original.
(Thats an R32 GTR behind it. More pics upon request)
This is my brother's Dodge Raider, aka "The Raid" It looks fairly mundane from the outside, but under the hood lurks a twin turbo 1jzgte. Its one of the best sleepers of all time.
Ok, back inside. This is our Subaru shop track car. The spec list on this car is lengthy, so Im not going to go crazy with the details, execpt for that is has a Tomei 2.2l stroker motor with a GT30r turbo and make 400whp on our dyno.
This is a customer's EG. Its probably the cleanest civic I've ever seen. We didnt do the build on it, but we are reworking the car into a reliable track car for the customer. The shop that did the work previously mostly does show car stuff, so race practicality is not their forte.
Yes, thats a GT35r mounted on a D16z6.
I have recently been assigned the task of modifying a 07 STi Chassis harness into a bare bones rally harness. Its going into a 02 bugeye rally car and I need to strip out all the SRS, radio, door switches, hvac, and about 15 other circuits. Its a crazy amount of work.
And this is the last pic for now. This is our Nissan time attack car. It belongs to one of the owners. Again, the spec list is epically long, so Im not going to get into details. But it a fully built SR20 with a GT30R turbo making roughly 500whp. I might add that it only weighs 2100lbs. Its a ripper.
