let's not get into an argument over standalone / piggyback. fact is, piggyback does just fine for a large amount of people on there on a budget looking for moderate gains w/o spending $1k for a standalone. for people that insist on being more intense, or actually have the need for it, standalone is a better, more expensive alternative.

the end.

Stand alone > them all

VAFCII just manipulates everything under the hood. Not a good program. I use to think that it was the best thing ever, but now I just dont even want to think about it since zexaccord told me so mucha bout it, and how Emanage is proly the next best thing to AEM EMS, so yeah.

SUMMARY OF THE ABOVE

-AEM EMS > ALL

-Greddy Emanage has all values for injector/timing control. Hard to tune, and many tuners won't touch it. Optional injector harness is at will for an additional cost.

-VAFC is the same as SAFC but w/ VTEC controller. It is great for all motor applications but not boost. It manipulates air movement from ou MAP sensor to the ECU. By doing this timing is advanced. The KEY to SAFC is a good match set w/ injectors. You need to do the calculations so you can use the SAFC as a fine tuning device. If you are using it at full 40% increments you may begin to have timing issues. Usually in an all motor application w/ mild bolt-ons(cams etc.) your stock injectors will be fine.

-FMU, lets not forget about rising rate regulators. They are great for low boost applications but have no type of timing control. Anything over a 10:1(for every 1 lb of boost, fuel PSI goes up 10psi) is going to starve even some of the best fuel pumps out there. This is designed to SQUEEZE more fuel through the injector during an opening but also utilizing a rising rate scale.

-Hondata, crome, uberdata etc.... Great FREE(not hondata) programs for tuning your vehicle and very similar software to AEM EMS. The only problem is that 6th gen accords need to be switched to OBD1 and you will have issues with IACV(Idle air control valve). After all the complications of getting a new ECU, converting OBD, and IACV issues it would probably be worth just spending the few extra bucks on AEM EMS. THIS IS A GREAT SOLUTION FOR OBD1 Vehicles.
