what might cause pinging,

clogged fuel filter? clogged fuel injectors?

i went from ULEV to a non ULEV motor are the injectors the same size?

i dont know what else to do. im gonna change fuel filter, then if that doesnt work ill be getten new fuel injectors. im gonna do a fuel pressure test to see whats going on...

at the end of the day with my great luck i'll never find out the problem.

i was watching horsepower tv on spike a few weeks ago and they said if your timing is off by just a few degrees youll get a pinging noise, used the same word too and it made me think of your car cuz u were talking about it right before i watched the show, and they said if you fix your timing itll be fine

i had the same problem with an older car i had (86 corolla sr5), anyhow my mechanic said to put premium fuel in andb see what happened. i did and it went away. but as far as the cause of it. . . it has to do with timing, maybe it can be adjusted at the distributer, i know with the honda's you can advance or retard the timing at the distributer.
