Bad Starter???

So I woke up this morning and tried starting my car. 1998 Honda Accord LX sedan manual. All I could hear was like a very bad humming noise coming from the start. After hitting the starter a couple of times I got the car to turn on, but after turning off the car and trying again all I can hear is the humming noise. Is it time for a new starter or is something else wrong???

Your battery voltage should be around 12v

I checked the battery voltage and it was a little above 12v so i don't think that is the problem. Do you guys recommend me buy a new starter???

take the starter off and take it to a Advanced auto and have them test it

its 2 bolts and 2 connections

takes 10-15 mins if youve never done it b4...2 12mm or 14s and a 10mm for the power n plug that you just pull out..

Your battery voltage should be around 12v

the battery may read 12v... but u need at least 450cca to start the car... and for the starter u may have a bad solenoid...

with load on the alternator i believe the voltage should be 14.

Thanks for the help guys, I guess the starter was bad...bought a new one and got the car started up again...
