I was trying to replace my front discs and i couldnt get the caliper bracket bolts off. My friend was saying Ill need an impact wrench to get them off. Ive been soaking them in wd40 but nothings loosened. Do I really need an impact wrench or is there something else I can do to loosen them up?

Use a pipe if your daring be care full tho you can strip it or break the head off the bolt

Also I don't mean to state the obvious but you are turning it the correct way? Remember if you are facing the disk you will be turning it backwards

how long is ur ratchet? I did mine recently and used this ratchet:
http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-half-inch-extendable-ratchet-98831.html

the ratcheting gives me more room and this one is adjustable from 12-17 inches. **** I just realized it is rated for 400 ft/lb max. I didn't see that when I bought it.

Not trying to promote that item but the right tools really helps.
Yeah and make sure you turn the right way and maybe a little pb blaster.
