Is it safe to swap car batteries?
eg.
1. 6th gen v to an i4 and vice versa?
2. 5th gen i4 to a 6thgen v6/i4
3. toyota corolla/camry to a 6thgen v6/i4

Thanks
My battery died and Im wondering if I could use any of the above as i have a few cars lying around collecting dust.:bash:

As long as the posts line up and the CCA's are not below stock requirements, you should be fine.

People with engine swaps use batteries from different cars all the time with no issues.

I am actually considering running a Civic battery for my swap so that the CAI has enough clearance.

what do you mean post?

googled it. nvm

What the v6 have a higher CCA than the i4s... 720 vs 600 respectively.
It's safe to use right?

A battery with side AND top posts isn't an issue.

Wait What?!?!?

Anyway let me be clear then, cause I never refer to an issue just difference in post location between the i4 and v6. Please excuse my horrible example below:

x[+] i4 battery terminal location
x[-]

[+]x v6 battery terminal location
[-]x

He can still connect the terminals except he would have to tilt the battery and why would he want to do that

^Incorrect, my Optima battery for my V6 has the same setup as your i4 example.

I have used a 4cyl battery from an Integra, and it worked just fine.

Your example may be the stock battery example, but there are plenty of batteries that can be used between the v6 and i4.

Take your battery to CT. They'll charge and test it for free.
If you really want to switch then look at your current battery that fits...you can replace it with any other battery that fits which is the same size or smaller, same cca or higher, and has the terminals on the same side and same order.

The end.:coffee:
