i had this problem on my 7th gen. I had to adjust brake light switch and it worked again.

I think it's somewhat similar to autopilot only it's meant strictly for cruising.

Sorry to bring this thread up from the dead, but how do you adjust the brake switch? Do you just have to turn it or is there more to it?
