You should also consider getting a polisher and buff those tail lights. 3M compounds work pretty good. I usually just sand with 400, 1000 and then 2000 grit sand paper. Then I use 3M's medium cut compound. Just make sure you finish off with the 3M Finesse-it II. Although some people with $ go heavy cut, medium cut, light cut, swirl remover and then finesse-it 2. I was told that heavy cut is similar to 2000 grit sandpaper if I can remember, or something in that ball park.
