i have a ELM 323 code reader. All you need is one 5 dollar cable. I think i still have the digimoto disc. use the reader and a laptop with the program adn you can read all the engine sensors as well as pull and delete codes

let me know

/thoroughly lost

I have no idea what it is. It doesn't seem as simple as a straight code reader either from what I'm reading (doesn't mean I'm reading the right stuff though). In the meantime, can I do this--albeit, in much more time consuming fashion--with a paperclip?

Could you explain this to me a bit better? I'm not a stranger to the underside of a hood, but I've never integrated my Freecell and porno machine into working on my cars.

Thank you for getting back to me and being patient.

I'm interested in this, just would like to know more. And are you offering me yours? Like I said, just confused a little is all. I'll read through your links and see what I can figure out.

I'd absolutley like to read my codes, know what they mean and monitor as many parameters as possible, not just for this prep-work, but for the future as well, maybe even in-between sessions at the track.

Like I said, not trying to be too-lazy-to-Google guy, I'm just not 100% sure what I'm googling just yet!

Dumb it down for me. /keeping it real

If this is a v6 AT youre talking about I wouldn't put it in D4 at all on the track... I would keep in in D3 the whole time lol. Our 4th gear is useless on the track. Sounds silly but it would definitely help a bit in the twisties(tranny won't need to downshift when you hit the gas again) and in the straights(d3 will take you to 122 or so instead of d4 switching to 4th at 95-105.). If you already know all this... Sorry lol.

You know, someone mentioned that to me. We drove it all the way around in D4, and I was figuring that trying to manually shift it would do us more harm than good in an already strained transmission (yup...this is the V6AT). We're not sure when we're getting back out on track...NJMP probably isn't going to be until April '13, but we could shoot for New Hampshire in OCtober if we haven't missed registration.

Anybody here ever add an oil cooler? Searching produces a few threads but nothing comprehensive that I've found yet.

We ran ~360 laps, so roughly 180 laps per day. Pretty positive that trying to run this thing for another 360 laps in D3 is going to have me learning how to rebuild a J30 in no time.

Here's an oil cooler adapter I've found:

http://www.car-stuff.com/store/hond...3713581.html?prodSlot=Product+Listings+Page:2

If this adapter goes where the oil filter is, I imagine the oil filter then goes on the other side of this adapter? Or will it be remotely mounted?

I've got a bug in the ears of a few of my buddies...we're trying to shoot for Louden, NH in October...hopefully.

Missed Loudon, NH, but this adapter is for ****. Doesn't fit and leaves a few gaps...like it's not even close. Must've ordered the wrong thing.

Oh....and finally had the time to commit to the shop and we pulled the codes via paperclip. "20" and "65" showed up, so I'm back to searching/researching and we have a bad idle (IACV). Why wouldn't the car throw a "14" as well though?

First of all having it on D3 does not mean it will stay on it. If the RPM goes to high the transmission will shift to 4th gear.

Second if this really is a V6 AT then removing vtec will only make things bad. You do know that the accords so called vtec is actually vtec-e ?
If you remove the vtec solenoid plugs you will disable the vtec but as pointed out the MPG after vtec should engage the engine will just go on but will not go as it should and MPG will be bad. If you really want the vtec off and race the car you need vtec killer cams that they have for D, B, K and C series engines.

Remember that at the moment you are running on 18 valves and when vtec engages you are running on 24. The valves do not open like on other vtec engines.

Thank you...I did not know that. Yes, it is in fact a V6AT (J30). I knew the D3 thing never really sounded correct and I have no interest in spinning this thing any higher than it needs to go.

We're really just loking to squeeze what we can out of her. I realize this isn't a typical racing platform and neither is the engine, so we'll take whatever we can get.

Like I said though, still need to address:
The "20" and "65" codes and the IACV.
