This was inspired from Crossfire's post http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38398. Thanks Crossfire!
I got this camera: Rockville RMC2 which came with my deck when I bought it off eBay
Went to the junkyard to get a license plate light cover. Couldnt find any 6th gen Accord sedans with their trunks intact. But I went around and found that 99-00 Civics had the same light covers
Dremel out the bubble
Had some plexiglass lying around from the window of an old computer case
Dremel out a path for the cable (I didnt use this particular one)
Bought some LED lights off ebay. 3 SMD waterproof LED light strip
12V from computer to test them out
Solder to a spare T10 LED for easy plug and play (used 12V from computer to confirm LED polarity)
Plexiglass glued onto license plate light cover with clear silcone adhesive
Camera screwed on
Alot of silcone adhesive to hold everything in place and make it waterproof
Getting ready
I was gonna tap the reverse light wire to power the camera, but then I found the trailer connector! Drivers side trunk behind the liner
LEDs going in
Running wires
Spade terminals fit in the trailer connector
Just cut half the spade terminal off and crimp them
Consult my trusty Haynes manual for wiring colours. Grn/blk for backup light (to provide power to camera when reverse lights is on)
Power and Video cables
Finished product
Wiretap to splice reverse indicator wire in drivers side fuse box
Miscellaneous FYI:
I previously had GPS antenna stuck on top of my deck. I found that relocating it to the useless tweeter spots decreases GPS lock time dramatically
Deck microphone can easily be routed behind instrument cluster
