When I check the dipstick my oil is low and I have to add oil occasionally, I also noticed that on the sides below the valve cover there are crusty stuff is that oil leaking from the engine? I also get white smoke from my exhaust, however I don't have coolant issues, someone said my engine is burning oil.

I think I have a combination of both problems, how much would it cost to fix these issues

Hard to tell. White smoke can be oil, ATF, coolant. But if you're only needing to refill oil then it prob just burning oil. You can take it in for an over the counter rough estimate, just be very descriptive on what's going on and how long it been going on. Check out repairpal.com for basic parts and labor costs. There's also an app for that under same name. I suggest you get a few buddies that like to work on cars AND know what they are doing AND like to be paid in beer. Also pick up a fix it book like Chiltons or Haynes. Pro Tip: keep the book in yo trunk. I wish you luck, the good kind.
